Initially, BoreAid was created to assist in the design of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) projects using plastic pipe (HDPE/MDPE/PVC). Industry standards were implemented according to ASTM F1962 and various other sources.
As of January 28, 2008 BoreAid has been extended to include the design of steel pipe. The addition allows BoreAid to generate more complicated bore paths (multiple curved/straight sections) for steel pipe, calculate shear/hoop/thermal stresses, and calculate pullback force based up PRCI guidelines.
Also included in this newly released version, as a result of user demand, is the ability to complete as-built calculations and plots.
