Key Features

  • Compatibility with operating systems
BoreaidTM Planners are compatible with all the Microsoft Windows platforms (2000, XP and Vista).
  • User Friendly
BoreaidTM Planners was developed to eliminate any redundancy in user inputs and as a result the user-friendly system directs the user on how to complete a step-by-step bore path and pipe design analysis.
  • Simple to Complex Site Conditions
BoreaidTM Planners contain 3D visualization capabilities which allow the user to examine the site at each stage of the design. They provide the user with the option to change scale/zoom and the flexibility to view the output in a variety of formats – essentially creating a virtual site and project location which the user may navigate through upon desire.
  • Multiple Soil Layering
BoreaidTM Planners assist users in modeling the site geological layering using a built-in database of sample soils based upon USCS, AASHTO, and typical soil classifications. The path of the pipe may be viewed to ensure it avoids areas of unfavorable soils - voids, cobbles or boulders.
  • Surface/Subsurface Obstacles
BoreaidTM Planners consider above and below ground obstacles such as roads, sidewalks, buildings, environmental areas, and utilities. Each type of obstacle has a corresponding “acceptable clearance zone” that may be input based upon existing standards. The path of the pipe may then be examined to ensure it does not pass through the clearance zone of the obstacles.
  • Set up Zones
BoreaidTM Planners calculates the required setup zones at the two sides of the bore. Surface obstacles inhibiting setup zones can be identified prior to the installation of the pipe.
  • No Drill Zones
BoreaidTM Planners shows the no-drill zones for the geotechnical investigation. To prevent hydro-fracture, geotechnical investigation boreholes should always be drilled outside of the no-drill zones.
  • Path Verification
BoreaidTM Planners check the radius of curvature, minimum depth of cover and entrance/exit angles to verify that they are within an acceptable range following from existing industry standards. Automatic warnings are generated.
  • Rod-by-Rod Plan
BoreaidTM Planners determine the rod-by-rod plan for the designed path. Users can export and provide this rod-by-rod plan to the driller who can use it to steer along the bore path.
  • As-Built Calculations and Plots
BoreaidTM Planners allows the user to compare As-built data with the planned bore path. The accuracy or deviation percentage can be determined during the job or once the job has been completed.
  • Professional Results
BoreaidTM Planners allow the user to export all relevant data to be included as part of a contract/design proposal or imported into spreadsheet programs such as MS Excel.
